Chapter Elections for the June 2025 through May 2027 term will occur early next year. The calendar of events for chapter elections is:

• Mail Chapter & Affiliate Convention Nomination Forms – January 16-17, 2025
• Self-Nomination Link Live in Members Only by 9:00 am – January 16, 2025
• Chapter & Affiliate Convention Nominations Close – February 14, 2025
• Chapter Nomination Lists Posted to Web through – February 28, 2025
• Mail Chapter Elections Ballots to Address on File – March 12-14, 2025
• Chapter & Affiliate Elections Ballots due – April 18, 2025
• Count Chapter & Affiliate Elections Ballots – April 22-25, 2025**

Any UUP member wishing to run for a position may do so by write-in ballot.

All UUP elected delegates receiving 10 or more votes from chapter members become a voting member of the UUP Upstate Medical Chapter Executive Board. For every 75 UUP members of each employee category, the chapter is allotted one delegate position.

The next UUP Upstate Medical Chapter Monthly Member and Executive Board Meeting for 2024 will occur on Wednesday, March 19th at 12 PM in Room 4414A of the NAB or virtually via Zoom. Registration is now open for this monthly Chapter meeting and it is open to all UUP members. Register for these meetings using the QR code or link (https://forms.gle/ubQDL5EcD1hTsWfi7) on the attached flyer.

Registration will close one week prior to each meeting since there is a one-week deadline for ordering food for the in-person attendees. To register, just enter the required information, select how you plan to attend the meeting, and your food preferences. New UUP members are welcome to attend to get involved and learn what your UUP Chapter is doing for you on a continuous basis. All UUP Upstate Medical Executive Board Members, elected UUP Chapter Officers and Delegates, are encouraged to attend to vote on the required monthly business.

The UUP Upstate Medical Chapter Monthly Member and Executive Board meeting is usually held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 12 noon. While elected UUP Chapter Officers and Delegates are the only voting members of the Chapter Executive Board, this meeting is open to all chapter UUP members. The meeting capacity is 75 members including the Executive Board members and food will be ordered for all registered in-person attendees. There will also be a virtual Zoom meeting option for these meetings, but you must register for the meeting to receive the link.

The UUP Upstate Medical University Chapter will be hosting the first of three monthly workshops for UUP members on Wednesday, March 26^th from 12 – 1 PM in 4414A of the NAB (New Academic Building). This workshop will focus on Union Values and will be presented by our NYSUT Labor Relations Specialist, Brent Underwood. This workshop will help UUP employees and supervisors understand the why of the work, the importance of balancing the role of being an agent of management and personal values that align with the union mission and exploring strategies for incorporating union value approaches to difficult supervisory situations. There are in-person and remote (Zoom) options. Lunch will be provided for those attending in person. All UUP members are welcome. The Greater Syracuse Labor Council participates in the Syracuse St. Patrick’s Day Parade each year and this year’s parade will be on Saturday, March 15th. We will meet at the Teamsters 317 Headquarters, 566 Spencer Street at 11 AM to line up for the noontime parade down Salina Street. A potluck lunch is served at the Teamsters 317 office after the short parade. Transportation will be provided to and from the parade from the Teamsters Hall. You can sign up with the Labor Council here. If you plan on attending, please let the us know by emailing [email protected] and wear your red UUP t-shirt. We have UUP T-shirts in all sizes available in the chapter office, just let us know if you need one. This is your chance to be part of a Syracuse tradition and march down Salina Street in the Syracuse St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
